  • NAGF Comments submitted for NERC Projects
    The NAGF worked with membership to develop and submit NAGF comments for the following projects: Project 2021-02: Modifications to VAR-002 SAR

  • NERC MRC/BOT Teleconference May 12-13, 2021
    The Board received a preview of NERC’s 2021 Summer Reliability Assessment, which is scheduled to be released at the end of the month. Based on predictions of above-normal temperatures throughout much of North America, the assessment warns of Regions where the risk of energy shortfalls during extreme conditions are elevated or high. Texas, New England and MISO are found to have “elevated risk.” Of greatest concern in the high-risk category is California, where up to 11 GW of additional transfers are expected to be needed in late afternoon to offset reduced solar output. This is in contrast to 1 GW of transfer needed on a normal peak day.Board presentations are located on the Board of Trustees agenda page on NERC’s website.
  • Executive Order on Improving the Nation’s Cybersecurity
    On May 12, 2021, President Biden signed an Executive Order to improve the nation’s cybersecurity and protect Federal Government networks underlying our nation’s economy and way of life. The 18-page Executive Order does not set forth specific requirements, but rather sets deadlines for named agencies to develop requirements, standards, or guidelines on specific cybersecurity areas.Executive Order in Improving the Nation’s Cybersecurity
  • NERC Standards Committee’s Segment 5 Special Election – June 3, 2021 through June 10, 2021
    Karie Barczak – DTE Electric Company has volunteered to be the Electric Generators (Segment 5) representative on the Standards Committee for the remainder of the 2020-2021 term. Karie actively supports the NAGF, serving as a member of the NAGF Advisory Committee. Please make the time to support and vote for Karie during the special election voting period.
