  • NERC MRC/BOT November 2022 Meeting – NAGF Policy Input

The NAGF developed and submitted Policy Input to the NERC Member Representatives Committee (MRC) and Board of Trustees (BOT) in preparation for the NERC BOT meeting scheduled for November 16, 2022. The NAGF Policy Input provides comments related to improving NERC’s ability to address urgent reliability needs with appropriate agility, while also maintaining reasonable notice and opportunity for public comment, due process, openness, and balance of interests. The NAGF submittal and Request for Policy Input letter are available in the NAGF website file cabinet under the “NERC Board Reports\2022” folder. • NERC Distributed Energy Resource Strategy Document

Distributed energy resource (DER) levels are growing rapidly across many areas of North America and are altering how the bulk power system is planned, designed and operated. While DERs present a number of benefits, they also create challenges to grid reliability, resilience and flexibility. The Distributed Energy Resource Strategy identifies current and future strategic actions necessary to ensure reliable operation of the bulk power system. The core tenets of the current DER risk mitigation strategy focus on: DER modeling capabilities, studies incorporating DERs, operational impacts of DERs and regulatory considerations related to DERs.

  • ERO Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement Program Implementation Guide and Enterprise Periodic Data Submittals Schedule

The ERO Enterprise is pleased to release the 2023 Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement Program Implementation Plan, which describes the risks that will be priorities for the ERO Enterprise’s CMEP activities in 2023, and the ERO Enterprise Periodic Data Submittals Schedule. Collectively, NERC and each Regional Entity have worked collaboratively throughout this CMEP’s development to evaluate reports of NERC committees (especially the Reliability Issues Steering Committee), ERO Enterprise analysis of events, and NERC reliability assessments to identify the existing and emerging risks to reliable and secure operations.
