ERO Enterprise Implementation Guidance – The NAGF has submitted a new ERO Enterprise Implementation Guidance document for approval titled:

  • PRC-029 Implementation Guidance: Frequency and Voltage Ride-through Requirements for Inverter-based Resources; Requirement R4
  • This Implementation Guidance provides guidance related to how Registered Entities can determine if their IBRs are eligible to submit and receive an exemption under PRC-029-1. As critical terms used in the criteria were not defined during the Standard Drafting process, it is necessary that entities use a sound and consistent basis to determine how the term “in-service” should be applied when assessing eligibility for exemptions under Requirement R4.
  • Thanks to all the NAGF members that helped to make this resource for the industry to use after it is approved by the ERO.

NERC Posts Agenda for FERC Order No. 909 Virtual Workshop

  • November 5, 2025 | 9:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Eastern Click here for: Registration | Agenda
  • NERC’s Compliance, Engineering, and Standards Development groups will host a virtual workshop. The focus of this workshop will be FERC Order No. 909, issued in July 2025, which approved proposed Reliability Standards PRC-024-4 and PRC-029-1, as well as the definition of the term “ride-through.”
  • This workshop will offer only a virtual option. It will be recorded and transcribed for those who cannot attend and/or serve as a record of NERC’s initial outreach to industry on Order No. 909 and the directives contained within.
  • Some topics that will be covered include:
  • Documentation requirements for legacy IBR equipment seeking exemption(s) from PRC-029-1;
  • Equipment limitations of HVDC-connected IBRs with choppers;
  • Long-lead time projects (between adopting IBR design specifications and placing the IBR in service).

MSPPTF Seeks Feedback on Modernization of Standards Processes and Procedures Draft Recommendations

  • The MSPP Task Force (MSPPTF) has posted for comment draft recommendations for transforming how NERC develops its Reliability Standards in three areas: standards initiation, standards drafting, and balloting. The task force encourages stakeholders to engage with their peers and MSPPTF members and provide feedback by 12:00 p.m. Eastern, November 10, 2025. To simplify the submission process, a standardized feedback form with no character limit has been provided.
  • MSPP Draft Recommendations
  • MSPPTF Draft Recommendations Stakeholder Feedback Questionnaire
  • Following the close of the comment period, the MSPPTF will host two stakeholder input forums scheduled for November 13 in Salt Lake City and November 19 in Atlanta. Stakeholders will have the opportunity to engage directly with MSPPTF members and each other in open discussion around their input and perspectives. Input received from both the comment process and during the forums will be taken into consideration by the Task Force as it develops its final recommendations. Registration for In-Person or Virtual attendance can be found here.
