Subject: NAGF News Bullets for Bi-Week ending 04/9/2021

  • NERC Project 2021-01 Modifications to MOD-025 & PRC-019
The current MOD-025-2 verification testing activities require significant time, expertise, and coordination; however, they do not result in data that should be used by planners for modeling purposes. The MOD-025 Standard Authorization Request (SAR) aims to retain testing activities are useful and focus on more effective means of collecting useful data for planning models. The proposed PRC-019 SAR aims to address a number of issues identified by the System Protection and Control Subcommittee (SPCS) and revise the standard to be inclusive of all types of generation resources.   The NAGF worked with membership to develop and submit comments on the proposed SARs during the project formal comment period that ended April 2, 2021. The NAGF comments are available in the NAGF Groupsite file cabinet under the ‘NAGF Formal Comments\Project 2021-01” folder.
  • NAGF – NATF Coordination Efforts
Representatives from the NAGF and NATF held a virtual conference call on April 8th to discuss opportunities for the forums to work together on issues resulting from the Texas cold weather outages as well as other areas such as supply chain, the resilience/maturity model, and various transmission/generation interdependencies. The NAGF will keep membership informed as these discussions progress.

Thanks,

Wayne
