ERO Enterprise Endorsed Implementation Guidance – There is a newly ERO Enterprise endorsed Implementation Guidance document posted on the Compliance Guidance web page. The Implementation Guidance is titled:

  • EOP-012-3 Requirement R1 – Extreme Cold Weather Temperature (NAGF)
  • This Implementation Guidance is focused on the Extreme Cold Weather Temperature (ECWT) value determination.  It is intended to provide guidance, through examples, to demonstrate how a Generator Owner could use available temperature data in a reasonable and logical manner to determine a generating unit’s ECWT. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (Commission) will convene its annual Commissioner-led Reliability Technical Conference on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from approximately 9:30 am to 12:30 pm Eastern time.

NERC Posts Agenda for FERC Order No. 909 Virtual Workshop

  • November 5, 2025 | 9:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Eastern Click here for: Registration | Agenda
  • NERC’s Compliance, Engineering, and Standards Development groups will host a virtual workshop. The focus of this workshop will be FERC Order No. 909, issued in July 2025, which approved proposed Reliability Standards PRC-024-4 and PRC-029-1, as well as the definition of the term “ride-through.”
  • This workshop will offer only a virtual option. It will be recorded and transcribed for those who cannot attend and/or serve as a record of NERC’s initial outreach to industry on Order No. 909 and the directives contained within.
  • Some topics that will be covered include:
    • Documentation requirements for legacy IBR equipment seeking exemption(s) from PRC-029-1;
    • Equipment limitations of HVDC-connected IBRs with choppers;
    • Long-lead time projects (between adopting IBR design specifications and placing the IBR in service).

NPCC has posted the clean and redlined versions of the revised NPCC Regional Standard PRC-006-NPCC-3 Automatic Underfrequency Load Shedding have been posted on the NPCC Website for a 45-day final comment period through December 1, 2025, along with a proposed Implementation Plan and Technical Rationale document.
