- Small Group Advisory Session (SGAS) – New IBR Related Standards Effective in 2026 and 2027
- Event Information – NERC, in collaboration with the Regional Entities, will host a SGAS for registered entities on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 2:00 to 3:30 pm ET to discuss the Inverter Based Resources (IBR) related Standard Requirements with mandatory compliance dates in 2026 and 2027. The Requirements to be discussed were selected from NERC Reliability Standards PRC-028-1, PRC-029-1, PRC-030-1, and MOD-026-2. Click here to register for this event.
- Request for Questions – NERC is requesting Generator Owners and Generator Operators provide any questions they may have relevant to their PRC-028-1, PRC-029-1, PRC-030-1, and MOD-026-2 compliance obligations by June 30, 2026.
- Questions can be sent to James Merlo, jmerlo@generatorforum.net. James will submit the questions to NERC on behalf of the NAGF, without any specific company names.
- The NAGF will have its own meeting between the NAGF and the ERO Enterprise staff about issues pertinent to their compliance with the Reliability Standards for IBRs, on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at 11:00-12:00 ET. - North American Transmission Forum (NATF) Collaboration on August 12 from 2:00 – 3:30 PM EST
- The North American Transmission Forum (NATF) will host a webinar for NAGF members to highlight the NATF’s Inverter-Based Resources Interconnection Lifecycle program. This webinar will discuss the purpose, structure, and practices provided in documents developed by the program. Additionally, it will focus on what materials are available, their importance, and how they can be leveraged in your organization.
- The meeting invite information will be posted in the next Bi-Weekly newsletter and posted on the NAGF Calendar the week of the event.
- The NAGF and the NATF collaborated on a joint document named Transmission-to-Generation Protection System Coordination Guidance and Practices
- The documents Approval Date was 10/29/2020. The 33 page document is up for review.
- The NAGF is asking for Volunteers to review and edit. Please let James Merlo know if you would be willing to be on the edit/update team, jmerlo@generatorforum.net .
