- DHS Issues National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) Bulletin
The Acting Secretary of Homeland Security has issued a National Terrorism Advisory System Bulletin “due to a heightened threat environment across the United States.” Information suggests that some ideologically-motivated violent extremists with objections to the exercise of governmental authority and the presidential transition, as well as other perceived grievances fueled by false narratives, could continue to mobilize to incite or commit violence. The bulletin, issued on January 27, 2021, expires on April 30, 2021. The NATS bulletin is available per the following link:

The Reliability Leadership Summit, hosted by NERC and the Reliability Issues Steering Committee will be held January 26 & 27, 2021 01:00-05:00 pm Eastern. The summit will focus on four specific areas: Grid Transformation and Extreme Natural Events on Day 1 and Security Risks and Critical Infrastructure Interdependencies on Day 2, with each panel hosting an impressive array of expert panelists. The summit will be conducted Via Teleconference/WebEx.Click here for the NERC Announcement and event details: https://www.nerc.com/news/Pages/Reliability-Leadership-Summit-Focuses-on-Wide-Ranging-Known-and-Potential-Risks-to-Reliability-and-Security.aspx
- SAVE THE DATE: Thursday, February 18, 2021 at 1:00pm ET, IEEE Webcast on IEEE P2800, Draft Standard for Interconnection and Interoperability of Inverter-Based Resources Interconnecting with Associated Transmission and Sub-Transmission Electric Power Systems.
This joint webcast will provide an update on the IEEE SA Ballot of the IEEE P2800, Draft Standard for Interconnection and Interoperability of Inverter-Based Resources (IBRs) Interconnecting with Associated Transmission and Sub-Transmission Electric Power Systems. The technical minimum requirements specified in P2800 for the interconnection of large-scale, transmission- and sub-transmission-connected inverter-based resources like wind, solar, energy storage are important elements in the North American and international framework to maintain the reliability of the bulk power system with increasing amounts of IBRs, including those radially connected via VSC-HVDC facilities to the grid. The NAGF will provide membership additional information as it becomes available.
Thanks,
Wayne
