- As part of NERC’s Large Loads Action Plan, the Large Loads Task Force was established in 2024 to address potential reliability risks associated with emerging large loads. Their first objective was to identify the characteristics and risks associated with these emerging large loads. They have released their first white paper titled “Characteristics and Risks of Emerging Large Loads.”
- The Modernization of Standards Processes and Procedures Task Force (MSPPTF) has posted a white paper on potential improvement opportunities for transforming how NERC develops its Reliability Standards in three areas: standards initiation, standards development, and balloting.

- The MSPPTF invites stakeholders to provide feedback on the potential improvement opportunities presented in the white paper that will inform draft recommendations to be developed later in 2025. The Task Force will host three virtual Q&A sessions to provide useful context to facilitate stakeholders’ responses. Each session will be dedicated to one of the three process steps: one for standards initiation, one for standards development, and one for balloting.
